Lady Eagles win 3rd Place
The Lady Eagles came away with a 3rd place finish in the 8th grade division at the Nocona Tournament on Saturday despite 5 out of their 9 players being 6th graders. Montague beat Alvord first 58-24, before losing a close defensive game to Holliday 21-19. Montague then beat Jacksboro in the 3rd place game 43-27. Paige Davis led the way with a double double all 3 games. Raylea Bowles and Emma Read stepped up and did a lot of scoring and rebounding also. Outstanding 3 game stats: Paige Davis 52 points, 34 rebounds, 8 assists, 5 blocks, 10 steals; Emma Read 42 points, 12 rebounds, 8 steals; Raylea Bowles, 22 points, 12 rebounds; Maddyn Bowles 2 points, 8 rebounds, Avery Reed 8 rebounds. Other players on the team are Lynlee Coffman, Laura Hudson, Maddie Travis and Trinity Hudson.
Montague will next play at Midway on November 28th.
