Football Wins
The Montague football team traveled to Gainesville last Thursday to take on the St. Mary’s Mustangs. The Eagles entered the game with a 3-2 record after a loss last week and were eager for a chance to get back in the win column. Montague began the game with a quick stop on the Mustangs first possession and after a turnover on downs, quickly moved the ball down the field and capped off the drive with a touchdown. The Eagles, featuring a nice mix of run and pass along with a strong effort defensively, would never lose their momentum from that point carrying a 35-6 lead into halftime and finished strong in the second half on their way to a 55-18 victory. The win brings the Eagles record to 4-2 for the year and they will travel back to Gainesville next Thursday, 10/21 for the sequel with St. Mary’s to end the season.
