Volleyball Wins Consolation Championship
The Montague Lady Eagles won the Consolation division in the 8th grade Windthorst Tournament on Saturday. The Lady Eagles beat Holliday in 3 sets the previous week and Holliday came back at this tournament to beat the Lady Eagles 25-19, 20-25, 12-15. The Lady Eagles then went on to beat Archer City and Nocona in 2 sets. Montague continued to show strong serving with 89% team serving with 20 aces. Other outstanding stats from the tournament: Ava Johnson 9 digs, 13 kills, Tinley Cable 8 aces, 8 digs, 4 kills, 12 assist, Aubree Kleinhans 8 digs, 5 kills, 10 assists, Bayler Smith 13 digs, Paige Davis 6 aces, Raylea Bowles 5 kills, 3 assists, Brylie Hager 3 aces and 4 digs.
Montague hosted Nocona Monday night for an A and B match up. Montague won the B game 25-17, 25-6 and the A game 25-11, 25-15. Outstanding stats from the 2 games: Tinley Cable 10 assists with a perfect 15/15 on serves, Ava Johnson 7 kills with a .78 kill %, Aubree Kleinhans 7 kills with a .67 kill % and 5 assists, Bayler Smith 7 digs, Paige Davis 2 aces, 3 kills, Emma Read 9 aces, Lexi Romine 5 aces, 4 kills, Laura Hudson and Kaydence Lemons 2 aces each and Rileigh Smith with 4 aces.
Montague is now 11-1 and will host Henrietta on Monday the 27th beginning at 5.
