Montague traveled to Saint Jo Monday night for their 2nd game of the year. The Lady Eagles started and finished strong with a 55-0 win. 4 players scored in double figures led by Chloey Broussard with 14 to go with 6 steals. Ava Johnson led in rebounding with 8 to go with 10 points, Bayler Smith led the team in steals with 10 to go with 3 points, Aubree Kleinhans led in assists with 5 to go with 10 points (going 2/2 from the 3 pt. line), and 7 rebounds. Paige Davis scored 10 points on 50% shooting along with 6 rebounds. Tinley Cable scored 4 points, 6 rebounds, 5 steals, Emma Read scored 4 points. 

 

On the boy's side, the Eagles’ defense was the story in the matchup as they showed up big allowing an average of just under 4 points per quarter. The Eagles got off to a nice start in the first quarter on their way to a 14-4 lead. Montague forced turnovers in the second quarter to double their point total and extended the lead to 28-12 at the half. In the second half the Eagles would allow only 3 points on their way to a 38-15 win on the road. The leading scorer for the Eagles was Karson Kleinhans with 15 points. Other scorers were Caden Belcher with 10, Brady Moore with 9, and Hunter Parr with 4.

The girls will go to the Nocona Tournament Saturday and play Bowie first at 10 AM. Montague's next regular season matchup will come after Thanksgiving break on 11/29 when they will travel to Prairie Valley to take on the Bulldogs.
