Volleyball and Football Win @ WC
The Lady Eagles traveled to Wichita Christian Thursday night to take on the Lady Stars. Montague was victorious with a 25-13, 25-15 2 set win. A 3rd set was elected by second teams and Montague won in an exciting 30-28 set.
Outstanding stats from the first team: Tinley Cable 1 ace, 6 assists, Aubree Kleinhans 3 aces with 100% serving, 3 digs, 7 kills and 4 assists, Ava Johnson 4 kills, 1 save, Bayler Smith 6 digs, Paige Davis 5 aces with 100% serving.
Oustanding stats from the second team: Lexi Romine 2 aces with 100% serving, Kaydence Lemons with 2 aces. Rileigh Smith showed grit on the serving line serving up the final points of the set under pressure.
Montague is 4-0 and will travel to Prairie Valley on Monday.
On the football side, the Eagles came into the contest 1-0 after a win against Victory Christian in their first game. The Eagles got off to a fast start against the Stars, running the ball effectively and mixing in the pass leading to big gains and scores along with some stiff defense. The Eagles held a 21-6 lead at the end of the first half. In the second half, the Eagle offense opened up on the Stars with a good mix of run and pass on their way to a 55-6 and a 45-rule win in the matchup. After the win, Montague’s record improves to 2-0 as the Eagles will now prepare for a matchup in Saint Jo next Thursday at 5:30.
