Eagles Continue Undefeated District Streak
The Montague Eagles delivered a dominant all-around performance Thursday night, cruising to a convincing 58–21 road victory over Forestburg and continuing their strong stretch of play.
Leading the charge was Levi Newland, who put together a standout night with 26 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 steals, setting the tone early on both ends of the floor. Newland’s scoring burst helped Montague jump out to an early lead that they never relinquished.
The Eagles’ defensive pressure proved overwhelming, with Cason Harris wreaking havoc in the passing lanes. Harris finished with 14 points and an impressive 7 steals, repeatedly disrupting Forestburg’s offense and turning defense into fast-break opportunities.
Inside the paint, Brazos Jones controlled the boards, posting a strong double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. His presence limited second-chance opportunities and helped Montague maintain control throughout the game.
Caiden Young delivered a well-rounded effort, contributing 8 points, 10 rebounds, 4 steals, and 4 assists, showcasing the Eagles’ depth and unselfish play. Hayden Hennessey, Jake Harner, and Colt Garrett provided valuable minutes, combining for 3 assists, 8 steals, and 3 rebounds, further highlighting Montague’s team-first mentality and defensive intensity.
With relentless pressure, balanced scoring, and strong rebounding, the Eagles pulled away early and never looked back. Montague will look to carry this momentum forward as they continue district play with confidence on both sides of the ball. They will be back in action on January 29th. This night is also our annual Teacher Appreciation Night.
