Tough Matches and Strong Finishes Highlight Eagles’ Week

The Lady Eagles hosted Prairie Valley this week in junior high volleyball action. The Blue team started strong, downing PV 15-12, 15-11, before the White team fell in a hard-fought battle 25-13, 20-25, 10-15.

Top Stats:

  • Aces: Molly Romine 6; Lily Gray & Kenzi McEwen 5 each

  • Digs: Sage Keck 16, Gracie Jones 15 — both personal records

  • Assists: Lily Gray 11

  • Kills: JoAnna Parr 7

The Lady Eagles will be back in action on Monday, hosting Christ Academy in two tough matchups beginning at 4:00 PM with the blue team.

Meanwhile, the Montague cross country team turned in another strong showing this week with standout efforts from both the boys and girls squads.

Boys Results:

  • Levi Newland led the way with a 5th place finish (11:40).

  • Caiden Young (13:47) and Cason Harris (14:14) battled closely in the middle pack.

  • Aiden Chavez (14:41), Jerry Bonilla (14:57), Brazos Jones (15:15), and Kyler Fomby (16:52) rounded out a determined team effort.

Girls Results:

  • Sage Keck highlighted the girls’ race, finishing 2nd overall with a time of 11:59.

  • Kenzi McEwen followed at 14:38, while Presley Gonzales (19:15), Courtney Bobbitt (21:21), and Madison Fomby (24:00) all contributed to the team’s scoring.

The meet showcased both experienced leaders and emerging runner and the team looks forward to building on this momentum as the season progresses.

On the football field, the Eagles “45ed” Prairie Valley in a dominant performance, taking control from the very beginning. The game was hosted at Gold-Burg, and a huge thank you goes out to them for allowing us to use their field. A full article recap will be coming soon.
