Montague Eagles and Lady Eagles Roll to Dominant Wins, Both Improving to 3–0 in District Play

It was a strong night of basketball for Montague as both the Lady Eagles and the Eagles earned commanding victories over Forestburg, pushing each team to a perfect 3–0 record in district play.

Montague Lady Eagles Extend District Streak with 23–9 Win

The Montague Lady Eagles continued their impressive district run with a decisive 23–9 victory over the Forestburg Lady Horns. Montague’s defense set the tone early, limiting Forestburg’s opportunities and controlling the pace from start to finish.

Sage Keck led the team with 12 points, including her first-ever 3-pointer, energizing both the crowd and her teammates. Joanna Parr added 5 points, while Kynzlea Rios, Madison Fomby, and Jalena Rodriguez each contributed 2 points. The Lady Eagles also shot 80 percent from the free-throw line, going 4-for-5 to help secure the win.

Their teamwork, defensive pressure, and growing confidence continue to push them forward as district play continues.

Montague Eagles Dominate Home Opener with 77–14 Victory

The Montague Eagles delivered an overwhelming 77–14 win over the Forestburg Longhorns in their first home game of the season. From the opening tip, the Eagles controlled the game with fast-paced offense, strong rebounding, and balanced scoring across the roster.

Levi Newland led the way with 21 points, 9 assists, and 7 rebounds. Aiden Chavez powered inside with 20 points, 17 rebounds, and 5 assists, while Cason Harris added 12 points, 8 assists, and 7 rebounds.

A highlight of the night came from Brazos Jones, who recorded 9 blocks to set a new Montague program record, while also adding 11 points and 9 rebounds. Additional contributions came from Caiden Young with 8 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals; Alex Chavez with 3 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists; and Jake Harner with 2 points.

With both teams now 3–0, Montague looks to continue the momentum. Their next game is Thursday, December 11th at home against Midway.
