Montague hosted Saint Jo Monday night in basketball action. Montague was only up by 2 points at half time but switched to a zone defense in the 3rd quarter, holding the Lady Panthers to 2 points. The Lady Eagles went on to win 43-27 behind the hot hands of Emma Read and Paige Davis. Davis had her first triple double in stats, scoring 23 points, grabbing 11 rebounds and blocking 11 shots, also contributing 3 assists and 5 steals. Read scored 20 points (2 of 3 from the 3 point line), 2 assists, and 5 rebounds. Raylea Bowles pulled down 6 rebounds in the win for the Lady Eagles. A 5th quarter was elected and Maddie Travis and Trinity Hudson each scored a basket while Laura Hudson snagged 4 rebounds during the quarter. 

On the boy's side, Montague started out strong, only down 10-3 at the end of the 1st quarter but couldn't convert shots with a final score of 55 Saint Jo, Montague 7. Chaz Cunningham scored 4 points while Brooks Gray contributed 3 points.

After Christmas break, Montague will travel to Slidell on January 5th for their 1st game of 2023.
