Football Wins Exciting Game
The Montague Eagles’ football team started off the 2021 season last Thursday when they traveled to Decatur to take on the Victory Christian Patriots. The Eagles traded scores with the Patriots in the first half each scoring 3 touchdowns with the only difference being 3 successful point-after attempts by Montague. The Eagles led 21-18 at the half. The second half featured great defense by both teams with each pitching a shutout. The Eagles were able to mount a goal line stand stopping the Patriots on the 1 yard line for 2 consecutive plays on third and fourth down to end the game. Montague won the game by a score of 21-18 advancing their record to 1-0 for the year. Montague will face Wichita Christian in Wichita Falls in their next contest on September 9th.
