Both Teams Stay Undefeated 6-0!

The Lady Eagles continued their undefeated streak Monday night defeating Prairie Valley at their place 48-9. Kaygan Stone led all scorers with 19 points, going 3 for 6 from the 3 point line. Tinley Cable chipped in 7 points on 3 of 4 shooting. Bayler Smith led in steals with 13 while adding 6 points from transition lay-ups. Emma Read had 4 points on 100% shooting while Ava Johnson and Brylie Hager had 3 points each. Johnson led in rebounding with 5 rebounds while Hager had 5 steals. Aubree Kleinhans was second on the team in steals with 6 while making  a basket and Railey Martin and Chloe Broussard had 2 points a piece.

On the boy’s side the Eagles were able to pull out a win, 28-22 after a second half surge by the Bulldogs. Montague led by 4 at the half and stretched their lead to as much as 10 at one point in the second half. In the fourth quarter the Bulldogs were able to create some turnovers that were capitalized on with 2 three pointers cutting into the lead late. However, the Eagles were able to calm down and ran several successful press breaks leading to late game baskets. This effort paired with solid half court defense aided in the victory. The leading scorer for the Eagles was Caden Belcher with 12 points. Karson Kleinhans scored 8 and Kasch Johnson finished with 4. Hunter Parr and Brady Moore each finished with 2. 

 

The Eagles’ record moves to 6-0 and they will head to St. Jo on Monday night to face off with the Panthers.
