Monday Night Basketball
Montague hosted Bellevue for their 2nd game of the year Monday night. At the end of the 1st quarter the Lady Eagles had the lead 8-4 but going into the 4th quarter they were down 19-31. The Lady Eagles opened up with a strong 4th quarter and almost pulled off the come back win, losing by 3 points 32-35. Montague looks to rebound from the loss and get in basketball shape this weekend as they travel to the Nocona Tournament playing Alvord first at 9 AM. Paige Davis led the charge last night scoring 20 points on 54% shooting, grabbing 6 rebounds, blocking 3 shots and had 4 steals. Raylea Bowles scored 6 points on 2 made 3 pointers, Emma Read had 4 points to go with 3 assists and 3 rebounds while Maddyn Bowles scored 2 points on 2 free throws.
Montague boys lost 50-14 against a good sized Bellevue team. Cooper Johnson led in scoring with 6 points, Ryan Newman scored 4, Lane Smith had 2 points on 2 free throws while Brooks Gray scored a basket.
After Thanksgiving break, Montague will travel to Midway on the 28th for their next regular season game.
