A Texas Sized Research Project
Can you ever learn all there is to learn about Texas? Not in a hundred life times, but you can sure learn a lot! Fourth grade has spent the previous few days researching our great state, and using what they’ve learned to create a visual representation of many of the unique qualities of Texas.
Using their text book, magazines, the library, and the computer Fourth graders have focused on major themes including: geography, history, natural resources, plants, wildlife, and the location of major cities located in the Panhandle Plains, Big Bend Area, South Texas Plains, Gulf Coast, Hill Country, Piney Woods, and our very own Prairies and Lakes region.
When asked to share some of their favorite aspects of the project, the answers were almost as varied as the state, and ranged from, “Dinosaurs lived in Texas!” to “I never knew how many cities we have, and how old they are!” Other favorites were using the Internet for research, tracing a BIG Texas, and learning where the animals live. If you need any information about Texas please see a fourth grader near you.
Pictures coming soon.
