The Montague Lady Eagles brought home 3rd place out of 14 teams in the 7th grade division at the Red River Challenge in Whitesboro Saturday. The Ladies started out the day downing Melissa 15-9, 15-13, then went on to down Harpool 15-6, 15-9. In the 3rd game, which would have sent them to the championship game, Prosper was too much for the Ladies to handle but they gave a good fight. Prosper ended up winning 15-12, 11-15, 12-15. In the 4th and final game Montague beat Piner for the 3rd place spot 10-15, 15-12, 15-12. CJ Hamilton led the team in serving 92%, passing 87% and setting the most sets (26) with 96% accuracy, she also had 1 awesome save. McKenzie Simpson led all spikers spiking 30 hits with a 87% accuracy, also setting 100%(3 sets), she also had 1 block kill. Tiffany Osbourn served 90% and spiked 100%(4), Britney Wofford connected on 100% of her serves (7). Other team members at the tournament include Bailey Croxton, Catherine Tracey, Kendall Scott, Morgan Stamper, and Josie Contreras.
Montague had 2 home games Monday night, they beat Prairie Valley 25-13, 25-7 and then St. Jo 25-11, 25-12 and then payed a B game and won that one 25-20. Montague is now 8-2 and will travel to Forestburg on Monday the 28th.
