Montague girls and boys took home 1st place in the Windthorst 7th grade A team tournament on Saturday. Montague boys improved to 10-3 for the year. The Eagles opened the tournament with a 55-3 win over Petrolia. Keck Jones scored 10, Brenton Vineyard 23, Preston Cunningham 4, Brendan Ramsey 14 and Anthony Rios 4. Ramsey played one of his best games of the year at both ends of the court. Long from Petrolia made a miracle shot to end the game from about 75 feet. He finished the game with 18 points. In the championship game, Montague defeated Electra 46-22. Jones had 8 and made an excellent behind the back pass for an assist. . . . read more
Montague ISD recently issued all 6th, 7th and 8th grade students brand new Dell Netbooks for their educational use. MISD used local funds along with funds from a math grant they received last year to pay for the laptops. read more
The Lady Eagles traveled to Saint Jo on Monday night and came away victorious 38-12. Once again the Lady Eagles defense played a major role in the outcome of the game. The girls played great as a team and hustled the entire game, having to play most of the game without a key starter. "I am so proud of how the girls all stepped it up to the challenge. Their intensity and free-throw shooting were exceptional, making 9 out of 11. We also rebounded very well, I am so proud!" Says Coach Cromleigh.
